NBC has ordered eight episodes of “My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad,” a new reality competition series from executive producer Mark Burnett and Reveille.

The show features families competing in a series of stunt-driven challenges for various prizes. It’s slated for midseason.

“Every kid thinks their dad is the best, and this series is designed to let them see who really is top dog on the block,” said Craig Plestis, executive VP, alternative programming, development and specials, NBC Entertainment. “Plus, the children will benefit with prize money that can be used for their future education.”

Mr. Burnett said, “I love this concept because it combines the family fun and kid empowerment of ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader’ with the universally relatable concept of bragging that your dad is the best.”

“My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad” was created by Jon Hotchkiss and is a production of Reveille, Mark Burnett Productions and Hotchkiss Industries. Mr. Burnett, Roy Bank, Mark Koops, Howard Owens and Mr. Hotchkiss are executive producers.
