Marvel at Britney in High Def
People just can’t get enough of Britney Spears and her performance at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards. Now they can watch the event in high definition. MTV’s HD network, MHD, will air the VMAs Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. It will be the first HDTV broadcast of both Spears’ performance and the VMAs, and it could put MHD on the map, according to TVPredictions.com.
Warner Plans to Support Both Blu-ray, HD DVD
Warner Home Video President Ron Sanders said the company likely will continue to support both high-definition DVD formats until sales suffer, according to publication Twice. Mr. Sanders also told Twice that Warner Home Video will be releasing all four “Harry Potter” movies in HD for the holiday season. In an interview with the publication, Mr. Sanders said that the consumer seems to want both formats and that different titles sell well in each format.
Cuban Wants a Fight
Mark Cuban on Wednesday officially announced a new sports endeavor called HDNet Fights. The group of participants will put on mixed martial arts fights that will air on Mr. Cuban’s HDNet. The new project was announced at the American Airlines Center in Dallas by Mr. Cuban with Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Guy Mezger as well as future participants.
