CNN Launches Weekday ‘Election’ Hour

CNN is dedicating its 8-9 p.m. weekday hour, starting today, to campaign-related coverage through Super Tuesday on Feb. 5.

“CNN Election Center” will be co-anchored from the campaign trail by John Roberts with assorted members of CNN’s anchor team from the news network’s New York bureau.

CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein, announcing the program Monday, promised it will give viewers what they want the most: “less horse-race coverage and more of the candidates talking about what they would do as president.”

The temporary “Election” hour, to be executive produced by Jeff Kepnes, eventually is to be home to Campbell Brown’s new show after the former NBC newswoman returns to work from her maternity leave.
