Chicago Bears Feel at Home on WFLD-TV

WFLD-TV, Fox Chicago, has signed a multiyear deal with the Bears football franchise for the 2008 NFL season.

Sundays on Fox Chicago will be “All Bears, All Day.” Fox’s Chicago affiliate will air all pre-season games produced by the Chicago Bears Network. It also will air nine regular-season Bears games with pre- and post-game programming.

Dave Barnett will provide play-by-play and former Bears quarterback Erik Kramer will supply color analysis for WFLD.

Dedicated Sunday Bears coverage will start with “Kickoff Sunday” at 10 a.m. Central time, to be followed by “Bears GameDay Live” at 10:30 a.m. and Fox Sports’ national pregame show at 11 a.m. “Bears GameNight Live,” post-game analysis programming, will air at 10:35 p.m.

Fox Chicago will launch its Bears coverage Sunday with a “Bears Draft Night Live” special at 10:35 p.m. Central.

“This is a natural partnership for Fox Chicago as we already present the majority of Bears games in our market,” said Pat Mullen, vice president of Fox Chicago in a statement. “We are thrilled to further expand our relationship with the Bears and the NFL. A singular destination for expansive television coverage of Bears football is great for our fans and our business.”

I don't believe they can show any NFL highlights until the Sunday Night game is over on NBC, right? Hopefully, all those games end promptly at 1035.

I like Bears on FOX, but NBC should've still had the other half of the rights since they have Sunday Night Football and Bears GameNight Live fits perfectly out of it.

This move makes sense, given the majority of Bears games are on Fox since they are in the NFC. Go Bears!
