Jim Lehrer is returning to his role as anchor of PBS’ “The NewsHour” on Thursday.
Mr. Lehrer has been off the program since undergoing a heart valve replacement procedure in April.
A "NewsHour" spokeswoman said Mr. Lehrer will temporarily serve as the program’s anchor two or three days a week and gradually will resume full-time anchoring.
Mr. Lehrer will be back in his traditional role as anchor for PBS’ gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Democratic National Convention in August and the Republican National Convention in September.

Good health to Jim Lehrer and it will be GOOD to have him back.

To the news hour: July 7th newscast spent 25 minutes devoted entirely to publicity for Obama! hardly a mention for McCain except in a negative way. Talk about slanted media. Most media news time we have noticed goes heavily one way unless they can McCain/Bush bash. How sad.
With concern,
