NBC Sets 'Baby Borrowers' Reunion Special
NBC will hold a reunion special for its summer reality series “The Baby Borrowers.” The special is scheduled for broadcast at 9 p.m. Aug. 6, a week after the series’ finale airs.
The reunion will be conducted in a town-hall format, bringing the series’ cast and producers together, along with noteworthy guests to be announced, to discuss their experiences with the show and its topics. Viewers at home will be able to submit questions through NBC.com.
“The coincidence of this unique series has drawn media attention to the very important subject of the recent rise in teen pregnancies,” said Craig Plestis, NBC Entertainment executive VP of alternative programming, development and specials. “This special should shed more light on a controversial subject that deserves more personal discussion beyond the social experiment that we provided to entertain audiences this summer.”
“The Baby Borrowers” follows five teenage couples who want to have children as they are forced to deal with the responsibilities that come with caring for infants, toddlers, teenagers and even elderly people, but only for a three-week crash course.
The program, based on a U.K. series, premiered as NBC’s highest-rated show in the Wednesday 9-10 p.m. hour since Jan. 2 in the 18-49 demographic, averaging 7.9 million viewers overall for its debut.
