TLC Hires Nancy Daniels to Lead Production, Development
TLC’s new president and general manger, Eileen O’Neill, has brought in Nancy Daniels to head up production and development.
Ms. Daniels had been senior VP Of development and production for Discovery Studios-West Coast since July 2007, where she worked on shows for TLC, Planet Green, Discovery Health Channel and Science Channel.
Before joining Discovery, Ms. Daniels was VP of alternative series development at CBS.
Ms. O’Neill, who had been in charge of launching Discovery Communications’ Planet Green, replaced Angela Shapiro-Mathes as president of TLC last month as rating at the network tumbled and new programming tanked. The network’s senior VP for programming, Brant Pinvidic, hired by Ms. Shapiro-Mathes, left earlier this year.
“Nancy's outstanding accomplishments and strong background in production and development makes her the perfect fit for this pivotal role," Ms. O'Neill in a statement said. "She's a proven leader and with her direction and expertise, she is just what we are looking for as we continue to strengthen TLC's core programming and look ahead to build future hit series.”
