NBC Renews ‘Howie Do It’
"Howie Do It"? Apparently, pretty well.
NBC has given the thumbs up to 12 more episodes of the Howie Mandel hidden-camera comedy "Howie Do It," the network announced Thursday. The episodes are already in production.
Mr. Mandel's show premiered earlier this month and has increased NBC's low-rated Friday 8 p.m. hour by 64 percent in adults 18-49 vs. earlier this season.
"'Howie Do It' has proven to be a solid performer for NBC on Friday nights," said Paul Telegdy, executive vice president of alternative programming for NBC and Universal Media Studios.
This represents Mr. Telegdy's first series renewal since landing at NBC at the start of the year.
"Howie Do It" is a U.S.-Canadian co-production that boasts a bevy of production companies: HDI Productions Inc., Hallock Healey Entertainment, Suddenly SeeMore Productions Inc., 3 Arts Entertainment, Canwest Broadcasting and Alevy Productions. Mr. Mandel, Scott Hallock, Kevin Healey, Michael Rotenberg, Morgan Elliott and Mike Marks serve as executive producers.

While I enjoy Howie on the "Deal"...he ain't no Alan Funt of "Candid Camera" fame. That material was clever and hilarious. Howie's attempts have been crude, obnoxious, insulting to the viewers and subjects resulting in occasional foul language which ain't funny McGee! Please look at some of Funt's work and try to capture some of his magic, even the over-the-edge WHAT DO YOU SAY TO A NAKED LADY? Ah, youth, what a shame to waste it on the young in television today. Look forward to "Deal" but not "Do It". Joy and agape'...Joe

Congrats to Joe Pinner..Who's post is right on the mark..and while your busy recommending Funt..Add to the List Englands Late Jeremy Beedle and 80'hit Game For A Laugh,..Taste is as foreign to Howie Mandel as Hits are to NBC..Take a bow Ben,looks like you've renewed another loser

In only six episodes, Howie Do It has jumped the shark. One word: Mintensity. That was so over the line that Shaquille O'Neal couldn't win a tug-of-war with it.
