It looks like Jon Stewart, his "Daily Show" and the "Colbert Report" may once again be on Hulu.
Both shows disappeared from Hulu in early 2010 because the online video service and Viacom’s Comedy Central, the network on which the shows appear, couldn’t agree on a distribution price. But now the two sides are again talking, reports The New York Times’ Media Decoder blog.
Both Hulu and the cable network "were eager to make peace," the story notes. While both shows are available on Comedy Central’s own Web sites, Hulu has the potential to attract a wider audience because it has 30 million monthly users who are pulled by a variety of content from several networks, the story points out.
It’s not clear whether either Hulu or Comedy Central has changed its views on upfront payments, which Comedy Central had insisted upon, leading to the impasse last year, the article adds. Representatives for Comedy Central and Hulu declined to comment, the story says.
