After Complaints From Critics, ‘Mad Men’ Showrunner Changes Tune

After complaints from critics, "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner says he’s making a change to an episode in the AMC show’s fifth season — replacing a song because it wasn’t released until six months after the episode takes place, reports EW.com’s Inside TV blog.

The song is Dusty Springfield’s "The Look of Love," released in 1967, the story adds.

Weiner sent a note to critics with an explanation, saying: "We have replaced this song with one more suited to the time period and you, along with our audience, will hear it for the first time during our March 25th broadcast. Although we take license for artistic purposes with the end-title music, we never want the source music to break from the time period we are trying to re-create."

Weiner added, "Keep those notes and comments coming!," according to the story.
