Debmar-Mercury is close to completing a deal with television station owner E.W. Scripps to create a syndicated talk show with a former co-host of "The View," reports Nellie Andreeva at Deadline.com.

The project is said to be a legal panel talk show featuring Star Jones, among others.

Andreeva writes, "There isn’t a full-fledged pilot for the project yet, but I hear segments with Jones have been filmed. I hear the format calls for five hosts, and she is the only talent locked in so far," Andreeva writes.

Jones, an attorney who served as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn, was on "The View" for nine years.

The story adds, "A rep for Debmar-Mercury declined comment."
