Sharon Osbourne is apologizing to the co-hosts of "The View" for saying they should "go f— themselves," adding, "I’m not well," reports TMZ.com.
Osbourne made her criticism of Whoopi Goldberg, Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd during a segment on "The Arsenio Hall Show" earlier this week, and on Thursday’s airing of Osbourne’s show "The Talk," she apologized.
"I’m really just a loose cannon," Osbourne said, according to the TMZ report.
"Unfortunately I was inappropriate and I was trying to be funny at somebody else’s expense," she added.
But Osbourne may be having the last laugh, as she’s generating a lot of publicity for her comments and the subsequent apology, notes the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.
The Times asks: "Is it sincere? Who knows, but that’s not the point. What matters is that ‘The Talk’ and ‘The View’ are locked in a battle for viewers, and ‘The Talk’ — which was widely ridiculed as a ‘View’ pretender when it premiered a few seasons back — is gaining. These are daily programs and the ratings picture changes slowly. It’s a grinding battle. One way to get an edge is to dominate the news cycle."
