CNN has announced plans for a six-part series from Oscar winner Kevin Spacey. Currently titled “Race for the White House,” the docu-series is slated to air in 2016 under the CNN Original Series banner.

Spacey and Dana Brunetti are executive producers on the project from Raw and Spacey’s Trigger Street Productions.

“The series will be history telling at its most compelling. Using previously unseen archive footage, interviews with key players and dramatic recreations, each episode narrated by Spacey will tell the story of one campaign for the Presidency of the United States,” CNN said in its announcement.

Jeff Zucker, president of CNN Worldwide, said in the release: “We are absolutely thrilled to have Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti bring their world-class talent to CNN. When we created the CNN Original Series brand, this is exactly the type of programming we had in mind and ‘Race for the White House’ will be the perfect complement to our coverage of the 2016 campaigns and election.”

CNN’s announcement adds: “Each hour will tell the story of a four-year, no-holds-barred battle to become the most powerful person in the world, culminating in a single night of heart pounding tension. From powerful campaign speeches to the dirty tricks and Machiavellian schemes, ‘Race for the White House’ will capture the drama of how a high-stakes presidential election can turn on a single issue and so much more.”

  1. Seriously? Why don’t they just rebrand CNN as either the “Don Lemmon Station” or
HOAX NEWS NETWORK. There is no news here. Just more of Don Lemmon who has become a pro at milking a ten minute story for three consecutive nights in a row. I bet that he is a real cut-up off camera too. Please, put this guy on in the mornings and Chris Coumo at night….

  2. Hello From Germany, where we used to watch CNN before Don Lemmon came on. For some reason, our people are very finicky. We all miss Larry King. Please bring him back. He started looking like an owl and it was not even Halloween…We do not care for Chris Cuomo and miss him on “Good-Morning Germany…”
