NBC Show Goes Live

An NBC series will air live, with the cast to perform the program twice, for the East Coast and West Coast time zones.

Deadline.com reports that the live episode of the comedy series “Undateable” is set for May 5. The broadcast will take place at the same time that the network will be making decisions about pickups for 2015-16, the report notes.

“The live episode could bring some attention to ‘Undateable,’ whose second season premieres [tonight], giving the multi-camera series a short window to prove itself worthy of a third season,” Nellie Andreeva writes in the Deadline piece. “Going the live route would come natural to most ‘Undateable’ cast members who are comedians, including Chris D’Elia, Brent Morin, Ron Funches and Rick Glassman.”

The series, from Warner Bros. TV, was created by Adam Sztykiel, who also executive produces along with Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold.
