With the late-night television talk landscape rapidly evolving, a new contender is on the horizon. MTV announced today that it has greenlighted a new comedic late-night talk show, “Middle of the Night Show,” Deadline.com reports.

The report describes the show as “a fast-paced reimagining of the late-night comedy talk show that brings it out of the studio and onto the streets of New York City. Each night the show’s crew and live band crash the bedroom of an unsuspecting celebrity who is forced to host a talk show on the spot without any preparation and on very little sleep.”

The celebrity’s co-host will be Brian Murphy of “CollegeHumor,” who will also be a producer on the program. Big Breakfast, the company behind CollegeHumor Originals, is producing the show, the report notes.
