HBO has unveiled plans for a high-profile project from the creator of the acclaimed series “The Wire” and the director of “Crash.” The Los Angeles Times reports that the pay-cable net is working on “Show Me A Hero,” a six-part miniseries from David Simon of “The Wire” and Paul Haggis of “Crash.”

The project will star Oscar Isaac and is set to premiere in August.

“Based on the nonfiction book of the same name by Lisa Belkin, the miniseries also stars Catherine Keener, Alfred Molina, Winona Ryder, LaTanya Richardson-Jackson, Bob Balaban and Jim Belushi,” the Times reports.

The project examines racial tensions in the U.S.
