“Some old documents — newly unsealed — could be comedian Bill Cosby’s undoing amid numerous claims from women that he drugged and raped them years ago,” reports an Associated Press story in the Detroit Free Press.

The article continues: “Cosby admitted in 2005 that he got quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with, and that he gave the sedative to at least one woman and ‘other people,’ according to documents obtained Monday by the Associated Press.”

The report adds: “That woman and a second woman testified in the same case that they knowingly took quaaludes from him, the documents say.”

Notes the AP in a separate story: “The sexual assault allegations that resurfaced against Bill Cosby first became public in 2005 after a former employee of his alma mater, Temple University, claimed he had drugged and abused her a year earlier at his suburban Philadelphia home. Testimony in that case was unsealed Monday after court action by The Associated Press.”

The AP noted that for its story on Monday, “Cosby’s lawyers in the Philadelphia case did not immediately return phone calls.”

Writes CNN, “The documents include Cosby’s recollection of an incident in Las Vegas in the 1970s. ‘She meets me backstage. I give her quaaludes. We then have sex,’ he said.”

CNN adds, “While the woman’s name was redacted, the details of the encounter closely mirror those provided by one of Cosby’s accusers, Therese Serignese.”

The CNN story later notes, “Serignese [who said she was 19 years old at the time of the incident] did not make public accusations in the immediate aftermath of the 1976 incident. She explained her decision in a November 2014 article she wrote in the New York Daily News: ‘Cosby was everywhere. Everyone thought he was a great family man. I knew he wasn’t. I just couldn’t prove it with anything but my word. There was no video camera or DNA evidence. No one else had accused him publicly yet,’ Serignese wrote.

“She added: ‘He didn’t drink or take the pills. They could test him, and he’d be clean.’”

The newly released court documents have convinced at least one celebrity who has been outspokenly supporting Cosby to change her mind.

Singer, actress and model Jill Scott sent several tweets after the release of the court documents. One of them said: “About Bill Cosby. Sadly his own testimony offers PROOF of terrible deeds, which is ALL I have ever required to believe the accusations.”
