Long-Running Series Sinks to an Unhappy Milestone

A TV show that has been on the air since the early 1960s is racking up some unwanted milestones these days. The show is the ABC soap opera “General Hospital,” with Soap Opera Network reporting that the veteran daytime drama sank to its lowest number ever in women 18-49.

In Nielsen data for the week of June 22-26, 2015, “General Hospital” delivered 436,000 viewers in the demo to record the low mark. The number was down 18,000 from the previous week, when “GH” hit what was then its all-time low.

“General Hospital” has been airing since 1963.
