Obama’s Daughter Reportedly Lands Internship on TV Series

Jul 6, 2015  •  Post A Comment

Malia Obama, the 17-year-old daughter of President Barack Obama, is working as an intern this summer on the HBO comedy series “Girls,” Us Weekly reports.

The gig reportedly followed a visit to the White House by “Girls” creator and star Lena Dunham.

Us quotes a source close to the production saying: “She’s a fan, and she mentioned that to Lena when she came to the White House. I’m not sure how long she’ll be interning for. It’s a bit of a trial thing for her. They’ve known each other and discussed for a while. Lena and her get along great.”

Malia is quickly becoming a veteran of the TV business. The Us article notes that she worked last summer as a production assistant on the CBS drama series “Extant.”

The report notes: “Malia is set to graduate from private Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., next year, and will be attending college the following fall. She was recently spotted checking out New York University, and has also toured Columbia University (her father’s alma mater), along with Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley.”

  2. Ha ha ha!

  3. Every kid deserves a chance. If she is an egomaniac, know-it-all, snotty kid, she won’t make it in entertainment and will be running her father’s foundation like Chelsea Clinton.
