Phil Mickelson’s  Response to Claims That Almost $3 Million That He Gambled Ended Up as Part of a Money Laundering Scheme

As previously reported, popular professional golfer Phil Mickelson’s money was at the heart of a recently concluded federal money laundering case.

Mickelson’s been silent about the matter, until he was asked about it at a press conference this week at the Scottish Open, in which he is playing.

Here’s Mickelson’s clearly carefully rehearsed response, from CBS Sports, which just as clearly indicates he thinks he has enough goodwill that he can ignore the incident altogether:

“People are going to say things good; they are going to say things bad; they are going to say things true; they are going to say things not true. The fact is, I’m comfortable enough with who I am as a person that I don’t feel like I need to comment on every little report that comes out.”
