“Four years after the end of ‘Private Practice,’ Shonda Rhimes’ hit medical drama ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is getting another spinoff, which will revolve around Seattle firefighters,” reports our good friend Nellie Andreeva at Deadline.com.

The series “has received a straight-to-series order for midseason 2018,” Andreeva writes.

To be “written by ‘Grey’s’ executive producer/co-showrunner Stacy McKee’ the new series “follows a group of heroic firefighters. From the captain to the newest recruit, the show revolves around these brave men and women as they risk their lives and their hearts both in the line of duty and off the clock.”

  1. Can anyone say “Chicago Fire?”

  2. I agree, but Rhimes lost 2 shows that were cancelled in the past year, so to just give her show a straight to series run is a bit of a stretch and to think it will be a rip-off of Chicago Fire is also giving her more credit than she deserves. ABC taking a gamble on this along with AI returning so quickly after having a run on FOX.
