News Corp. Chief Operating Officer Chase Carey expects that the retransmission consent battle with cable and satellite broadcasters is going to get nasty, the Los Angeles Times reports.

News Corp. wants more money for rights to carry its Fox-owned television stations. “This distinction between broadcast and cable is a looking-backwards definition," Carey said at the UBS media conference. He said a "business model that recognizes that reality" is needed.
