‘Earl’ Gets Full Season Pickup

NBC has picked up its new Tuesday night half-hour “My Name Is Earl” for nine additional episodes, making the show the first new fall comedy to be granted a full season order of 22 episodes.

For its first two weeks on the air, “Earl” is the top network comedy among adults 18 to 49 (5.8), having improved the time period by 61 percent versus NBC’s average for the 2004-05 season, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The series is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television and Amigos de Garcia. Creator Greg Garcia and Marc Buckland are executive producing.
