Lifetime has ordered a two-hour reality project about a Karaoke competition, the network announced Tuesday. “Karaoke Superstars” is produced by Gary and Julie Auerbach’s Go Go Luckey Productions, the company behind MTV’s “Laguna Beach” and known for pioneering a cinematic reality style.
“The four women profiled in the docu-film have each reached a turning point, where they want to explore new possibilities for themselves,” said Libby Beers, VP of original movies at Lifetime. “This is an exciting, upbeat drama about finding empowerment, friendship and personal transformation.”
The project continues Lifetime’s efforts to expand into the reality genre and will premiere in the fourth quarter of 2006.
