Online video company Next New Networks has acquired BarelyPolitical.com, the satirical Web site behind the Web hit “Obama Girl.”
Financial terms were not disclosed. BarelyPolitical.com is best known for the viral video hit “I Got a Crush on Obama.” The Obama Girl series has been seen more than 100 million times on the Internet and on TV, the companies said.
Next New Networks produces online video channels across a variety of topics and was founded by Herb Scannell, a former president of Nickelodeon.
As a Next New Networks channel, BarelyPolitical will be dedicated to political comedy.
