Taylor Nelson Sofres rejected a $1.87 billion offer from WPP Group that would have created the world’s second-largest market research company after The Nielsen Co., the Wall Street Journal reports. WPP’s big was designed to block a merger with GfK AG of Germany and could result in a bidding war.
