Cablevision is nearing an agreement to buy Sundance Channel from NBC Universal, CBS and Robert Redford for about $500 million, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing sources it didn’t identify. Cablevision had talks with Mr. Redford about backing the channel’s launch more than a decade ago before starting its own IFC network, the newspaper says.
