California lawmakers are debating an “Ugly Betty” tax credit for television and film production, so named because the ABC show moved to New York from Los Angeles last year to tap the Big Apple’s 35% tax credit, the Wall Street Journal reports. The proposed California tax credit, which includes a 25% credit for television shows returning from out-of-state, is part of state’s budget now being debated, and it’s not certain it would be included in the final version, the newspaper says.
