Low-power television stations are lobbying Congress for $450 million in aid to make the conversion to digital signals as soon as possible, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The low-power stations, which are being threatened with bankruptcy, aren’t required to make the digital transition, but fear being left behind as many viewers switch to digital televisions and DTV converters, the newspaper says.
