An NBC drama series has just undergone a big change behind the cameras. The showrunner on “Chicago Med,” Andrew Dettmann, is out, with Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov taking over as showrunners, Entertainment Weekly reports.
“Dettmann will continue to develop projects with NBC and Universal TV,” EW reports. “Schneider and Frolov, who are husband and wife, most recently served as co-executive producers on HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and consulting producers on Amazon’s ‘Bosch.’ Their other credits include ‘The Sopranos,’ ‘Northern Exposure’ and ‘Easy Money.'”
Created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead, “Chicago Med” is a spinoff of “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” The new series is slated to bow Nov. 17.
“The series will chronicle the day-to-day chaos of a Windy City hospital and the lives of the doctors who hold it together,” EW reports.
Cast members on the new series include Oliver Platt and S. Epatha Merkerson.

Never a good sign.
If only the scripts were as strong as the actors
