One of the stars of the long-running NBC hit “Friends” has a new project lined up at Fox. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Courteney Cox is developing a comedy star vehicle.
Cox, who played Monica on “Friends” and later starred on the ABC/TBS comedy “Cougar Town,” will executive produce and star in the new project. Others on board the effort from ABC Studios include writer and exec producer Robert Padnick (“The Office”) and executive producer James Griffiths, who will direct the pilot.
“The untitled single-camera project — which is in development — centers on Hailey (Cox), a woman who inherits her late billionaire husband’s charity and finds that changing the world is far less glamorous than she had imagined,” THR notes.
