Adele’s song “Hello” is the latest huge phenomenon on YouTube, recently becoming the video site’s 17th clip to reach 1 billion views — and doing so faster than Psy’s “Gangnam Style,” the reigning champion, did following its release back in 2012.
YouTube announced that “Hello” hit the 1 billion mark in 87 days, crushing the record of 158 days for “Gangnam Style.” But Adele still has a long way to go to catch “Gangnam Style’s” total — the Psy video is currently sitting on better than 2.5 billion views.
Other music videos that have reached 1 billion YouTube views, according to the AP, include Maroon 5’s “Sugar,” Major Lazer’s “Lean On,” OneRepublic’s “Counting Stars,” LMFAO’s “Party Rock” and Sia’s “Chandelier.”
