DirecTV Helped Save ‘Friday Night Lights’; Will It Do the Same to Save ‘Damages’?

The fate of FX’s "Damages," an award-winning legal drama starring Glenn Close, may depend on DirecTV’s Channel 101 agreeing to share the cost of the show, reports Entertainment Weekly.

In a set up similar to NBC’s arrangement with "Friday Night Lights," "Damages" would air on both networks at different times.

Sony, which produces the show, had reportedly contacted DirecTV about their getting involved when it became clear that FX was not going to go it alone for another season. An insider close to the dealings said DirecTV is just one outlet that was approached about "Damages."

The current season, "Damages’" third, comes to an end on April 19.
