The Tribune executive who sent a companywide email with content considered inappropriate for the workplace resigned on Friday, reports Phil Rosenthal in the Los Angeles Times. 

As previously reported, Lee Abrams, Tribune’s chief innovation officer, was suspended by the company after sending a memo to employees last week that included links to material that some workers found offensive.  Abrams had pushed for new ways of storytelling and conveying information to Tribune’s readers and viewers, such as in Houston, where the Tribune TV station was developing an anchorless newscast.

Rosenthal notes that the station "has virtually no viewers to lose." Nevertheless, "it’s not known what will happen to Abrams’ Tribune projects and initiatives with his departure," the story says.
