Here’s a television show that continues to make news five years after it was canceled.

The Emmy Award-winning, highly acclaimed, low-rated sitcom "Arrested Development" refuses to die.

A number of media outlets carried the primary news. Here’s the take from our friend Nellie Andreeva at Deadline.com: " ‘Arrested Development’ creator Mitch Hurtwitz dropped another bombshell today, telling a panel at The New Yorker Festival that he plans to bring the Emmy-winning series back to television for a limited 9-10 episode run before proceeding with the long-gestating ‘Arrested Development’ movie."

Andreeva then writes, "I hear that 20th Century Fox TV, which co-produced ‘Arrested Development’ with Imagine TV, has had talks with Netflix, which has been on the hunt for original programming, and Showtime, whose new entertainment president David Nevins shepherded ‘Arrested Development’ when he ran Imagine TV and served as an executive producer on the cult series.

"Arrested Development" ran on Fox from 2003 until 2006. During its last season the show was seen, on average, by about 4 million viewers each week. It should be noted, however, that it was scheduled against some tough competition, inlcuding the opening ceremonies of the 2006 Winter Olympics.
