The CW is hoping that sex will sell viewers on “Gossip Girl” this season, according to AdAge. Online ads and billboards will feature the characters semi-clothed and in flagrante, with the quasi-profane headline “OMFG.” The show will air its first original episode April 21 after the four-month halt caused by the Writers Strike. The CW has had particularly difficulty drawing new viewers into “Gossip’s” continuous storyline, and hopes the aggressive new campaign will do the trick. The show garnered around $30 million in ad dollars for its 2007 run, and has already been picked up for a second season in fall 2008.
