Late newscasts on local stations took less of a ratings hit than the network primetime shows that preceded them, TelevisionWeek reports, citing Katz Television Group’s Bill Carroll. CBS and its affiliates’ news broadcast ratings fell the most while news broadcasts for Fox, with ratings leader “American Idol,” were hurt the least, the magazine say.
