SAG has signed an interim pact to allow its members to work on independent films in the case of a strike against the major studios, the AP reports. The agreement also allows for completion of nine studio movies currently in pre-production. SAG’s contract with the studios expires June 30, and talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers are slated to begin Tuesday, with negotiations scheduled to run through April 26. Asked to comment, union spokeswoman Pamela Greenwalt said, “We’re in negotiations. We’re focused on that. We have no further comment.”
