Azteca America, a subsidiary of TV Azteca, will move production of its national and local Los Angeles newscasts to Mexico City to save money, the Los Angeles Times reports. The move has resulted in 30 employees being laid off in the last week, the newspaper says. Azteca America said it will continue to have reporters, producers and assignment editors in Los Angeles and correspondents in New York, Chicago, Houston, Dallas and Washington, the newspaper notes.
