Broadcast TV Product Placement Increases

Product placement on prime-time programming increased by 6% in the first quarter of 2008, according to the Nielsen Co., TVNewsday.com reports. Broadcast TV placement rose 39% on ABC, CBS, CW, Fox, MyNetworkTV and NBC while product placement on cable networks A&E, Bravo, HGTV, MTV and TLC was down 1%, the Web site says. The report also revealed that 117,976 brands were represented on broadcast and cable TV during the quarter, the Web site notes.
