CBS News called the Indiana primary race early for Sen. Hillary Clinton Tuesday evening, the New York Times reports. Other networks waited until votes were counted and reported from Lake County, near Chicago, where Sen. Barack Obama was expected to win by large margins, possibly overcoming Ms. Clinton’s early lead. Those returns didn’t come in till after 1 a.m. ET. The networks were able to project Mr. Obama’s win in North Carolina shortly after the polls there closed.
