James D’Arcy has been cast as the lead in Fox’s two-hour pilot “Virtuality,” the Hollywood Reporter says. The sci-fi drama about Earth’s first starship, which is on a 10-year journey to a distant solar system, comes from “Battlestar Galactica” executive producer Ronald D. Moore and will be directed by Peter Berg (“Friday Night Lights”), the newspaper says. D’Arcy will play the ship’s psych officer, who produces virtual reality modules to help the crew endure the trip, the newspaper notes.
