NBC Universal will have 3,600 hours of Summer Olympics coverage this year, up from about 1,200 in Athens four years ago, in an effort to recoup its $894 million investment in Olympics broadcast rights, Daily Variety reports. Events from the 17-day Olympics will be broadcast on sister networks USA, MSNBC, Oxygen and CNBC, in addition to NBC, the newspaper says.
