The National Association of Broadcasters and the Consumer Electronics Association have launched a nationwide competition to encourage over-the-air viewers to transition to digital television before the Feb. 17 deadline, TVNewsday.com reports. The “Rabbit Ears Pioneers” contest seeks stories and anecdotes about over-the-air broadcast viewers and why they enjoy broadcast TV. The goal is to help make sure older friends and family members are prepared for the switch to digital broadcasting, the Web site says. The “Pioneers” and those who nominate them are eligible to win a home entertainment system; winners will receive a digital converter box and digital reception antenna and be entered for the grand prize, the Web site notes.
