Broadcast Upfront Over Already? Yup.

CBS collected $2.5 billion in advertising commitments, closing the 2008 upfront sales market for broadcast networks yesterday, AdAge says, citing a person familiar with the situation. That put the market’s total take slightly above last year’s with a total of $9.2 billion, the magazine reports. ABC sales chief Mike Shaw said his network claimed about $2.4 billion in ad commitments, up $125 million over last year, according to TVWeek. Fox is expected to come in above $1.95 billion, while NBC booked $1.9 billion and the CW sold between $350 million to $375 million, AdAge says.
