The networks that have been following the long Democratic primary campaign projected Sen. Barack Obama as the presumptive Democratic nominee, led by ABC which made its call in a special that aired before “World News Tonight,” the New York Times reports. The other networks said Mr. Obama had won the race at 9 p.m. ET after polls closed in South Dakota.
