Gray Television CEO Robert Prather, LIN TV CEO Vince Sadusky and Nexstar Broadcasting Group CEO Perry Sook said they would collect fees from cable, satellite and telco providers for the right to air their stations’ signals, Broadcasting & Cable reports. Retransmission fees are expected to represent 25% of stations’ profits in 2011, with LIN’s Sadusky predicting 20% of LIN’s revenues would come from retrans and digital in 2010, the newspaper says. Localized community Web sites are expected to help bolster Web revenue for TV stations, the newspaper notes.
