By officially confirming it ordered a 20th season for “The Simpsons,” Fox has put the animated series on track to break the record next season for longest-running entertainment program in the history of prime time TV, the New York Times says. The longest-running primetime show of any type is CBS’s “60 Minutes.” The order was delayed by a contract dispute between producer 20th Century Fox Television and the actors who provide the voices for Homer, Bart, Ned, Apu and the rest of the gang.
