TCA Will Cancel Press Tour If Actors Strike

Jun 13, 2008  •  Post A Comment

The Television Critics Association press tour and TCA Awards in July will be canceled if there is an actors strike, according to TCA President Dave Walker, the Hollywood Reporter says. The Beverly Hilton, home of the press tour, and rental company SenowA have included a 30% kill fee in the contracts if the networks cancel on or after July 1, hoping to offset losses such as those suffered when the winter TCA press tour and Golden Globe Awards were canceled due to the writers strike, the newspaper says. The actors strike also would shut down production on many broadcast and cable shows, possibly pushing back the fall TV season, the newspaper notes.

  1. This sucks. Im a comcast customer & Im not suprised bc comcast keeps doing this sh*tty underhanded stuff to many here.
Already by 17 feb 09 we have to have a digital box to even watch free analog channels(nbc, fox,
    abc, cbs,upn,wb,pax,).
…Now Comcast wants 2 make us get a digital box so we have 2 have digital cable ? WTF? Basic white cord cable is all that I can afford! Gas is $4/gall 4 goodness sakes.
