Women’s Tennis Seeks Bounce from Stars

The Sony Ericsson Women’s Tennis Association Tour is increasing visibility for its fresh and familiar faces through a new $15 million branding effort aimed partly at raising TV ratings for its events, the New York Times says. Stalwart Serena and Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova are featured in print ads alongside newer stars including Ana Ivanovic, while TV spots feature players emerging as heroes from everyday situations.
